Welcome

Welcome to my e-Portfolio! My name is Besart Hysniu, and I am really excited to be in the final stages of my journey in the Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology program at the University of Calgary. I’ve designed this e-Portfolio to take you through my journey as an emerging school psychologist, giving you a peek at the experiences that have enhanced my knowledge and skills in this field.

As you navigate through this space, you’ll come across my professional timeline. It is a recount of the many hats I have worn. I have been a temporary teacher on call, stepping in for Learning Assistance Teachers, Resource Teachers, and Classroom Teachers across multiple grade levels. Each role has been a building block, shaping how I perceive the needs in the classroom and how they relate to the school psychology practice.

One of the highlights you’ll encounter is a reflective piece that discusses my personal philosophy and the psychological frameworks that continue to inspire my interest in the field. Along with this, I’ve broken down the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) domains of practice for you relative to my experience, giving you a window into my skills and competencies.

My e-Portfolio also includes snippets of my coursework and samples of my work.. These demonstrate my proficiency in the ten practice domains outlined by the NASP. These pieces of work shed light on how I apply everything from data-based decision making to creating safe, inclusive, and effective learning environments.

My curriculum vitae is also available here for you to review. I view it as more than just a list of professional and volunteer experiences. It is a roadmap of the milestones that led me to school psychology and continue to drive my learning and professional growth.

In the final section of my e-Portfolio, I’ve showcased my ‘Targeted Areas for Growth’ (TAG) assessment. Here, you’ll find my short-term and long-term goals, reflecting my commitment to never stop learning and refining my skills as I strive to become a well-rounded school psychologist.

Thank you for taking the time to explore my e-Portfolio. I hope the snapshots of my journey shared here represent my growth and how these experiences continue to shape my approach to school psychology.
